Profile

My passion for photography began in my junior year of high school. As I think back, I believe photography found me rather then me discovering photography. It was not my original intention to sign-up for photography, but I was performing poorly in a current class and needed to replace it with another. The only two classes still available to transfer into were either Home Economics or Photography. The former was of no interest to me, so photography was my choice.

Since I started in the second semester, I had to catch up to all the other students. I worked very hard and even came in after school to work on my projects. Doing my best paid off. I received an Honorable Mention from a contest called “First Exposure”, after that I was hooked!

Over the years, I continued to learn through workshops to build my photography skills. When I realized I need training that is more formal. I decided to enroll in the Photo Program at College of DuPage in fall 2006. In December 2010, I graduated with my A.A.S. in Photography.

Through my studies at College of DuPage, I learned that abstract is the type of photography that inspires my creative vision. The subjects that I choose are all sort of industrial products. I use them to examine how their form changes when altered by its shadow. Through this investigation, a new figure emerges. This new figure extends beyond its original intention and reveals itself as an art form.
